It’s been a little over a year since Luke Kinney’s self titled EP was released. In that time he has been keeping busy playing shows and writing music both as part of Something Collective and on his own. Now he’s back in the studio, on his way to recording and releasing a full length album.
February 16th marked the first day of studio production as he laid down 5 songs in true Luke Kinney style. The album promises to have the same live; “sitting in the same room” kind of feeling with simple harmonies and catchy guitar lines. Like the EP, this album will touch many different genres but will draw its core strength from folk. The variety adds a little something for everybody. One track even features spoken word from Matthew Mercure.
There is no official release date yet but we hope to have the album out by late spring/early summer, just in time for chilling on the beach or barbequing in the back yard.
Rest Easy
A week ago we had an awesome day in the studio with Max and Luke of Something Collective laying down some killer acoustic versions of some of their songs as well as a few new ones. We’re planning on releasing a small acoustic EP
sometime in early January. The acoustic release will hold true to form for Something Collective; spreading good vibes through catchy tunes. This time with an even more live/raw feel. We’ll hit you with an expected release date soon.
