Over the last couple months we’ve been spending sometime in the studio with Something Collective in an effort to get their first album recorded. The energy in the studio has been high and the music is feeling great. You can expect the same great vibe from the CD as you would from seeing them perform. The album will be available sometime after the leaves start changing colors.
A week ago we had an awesome day in the studio with Max and Luke of Something Collective laying down some killer acoustic versions of some of their songs as well as a few new ones. We’re planning on releasing a small acoustic EP sometime in early January. The acoustic release will hold true to form for Something Collective; spreading good vibes through catchy tunes. This time with an even more live/raw feel. We’ll hit you with an expected release date soon.
Something Collective is a ten piece Reggae/Jazz fusion project hailing out of Santa Cruz CA. Something Collectives music is a reflection of their influences, mostly drawing its core strength in roots reggae. Something Collective started in November 2011 and is currently working on their anticipated self titled EP being released July of this summer. Most of the songs are written by Luke Kinney (vocals and guitar) and posses a very spiritual aspect and dynamic. Luke and the collective carry on the vision and vibes of Bob Marley with songs of liberation, justice, equality and love. Something Collective is an exciting poly-rhythmic experience that draws people together making them move their bodies, leaving them wanting for more. Beyond the music Something Collective is a family and enjoys life to the fullest, this carries onto the stage and creates a show unlikely to forget. If your a fan of positive vibrations and than make sure you check out Something Collective
